“My Sacred Secret is now a Shared Sanctuary”

Diana’s first experience with The Aura House stands out to her because it was one of the first times she felt the welcoming of true authenticity … there was “no need to hide, pretend, or hold back”. She thought to herself … “this person (Lisa, the studio owner) is just okay with people being authentically themselves in their space? That can’t be real …”

But it was real … and the path that led her here is just as remarkable.

Diana took her first Yoga Teacher Training at Kripalu Center for Yoga and Health as a transition to freedom from an abusive marriage and divorce. At the time, Yoga was an integral support during her journey and she wanted to create spaces of healing just like her teachers had created for her.

Unfortunately, Diana didn’t have all of her energetic protection tools just yet, and after her training, found herself opening up to (and investing in) people that would ultimately take advantage of her.

“My experiences within the ‘spiritual’ community have taught me a lot, and hurt me a lot too. I’ve lost trust, lost money, and learned that not everyone is as honest, wholesome and well-intended as they portray themselves to be.”

On one hand, ‘spiritual’ predators were attempting to siphon her power, and on the other, Diana was cultivating more power through her Reiki Level 1 Training. This training led to an awakening that gave her the strength to cut cords from her abusers and reclaim her energy to create something better for herself.

“I don’t know if I would change anything from those experiences, because they taught me to open up my awareness, and led me down more paths of healing.”

The sequence of experiences that make up Diana’s life have all contributed to the Master Healer she is today. She has transmuted her pain into a passion for learning, and sharing that wisdom with others who hold similar stories.

Much like any story, there are ups and downs, twists and turns … and from an outsider’s perspective, you would not guess what Diana has been through based on how she now shows up in the world. She is a school teacher by day, Yoga and Pilates instructor by nights and weekends, a student of Jiu Jitsu, a Mama to fur babies, a Sister to many, and a true light to all (and this too only skims the surface of Diana’s being).

She is a voice for immigrant families, a force for systemic shifts, a teacher, a guide, a role model, an intuitive, and an honest-to-goodness inspiration to work alongside.

She’s the woman who will do what it takes to fulfill her debts and turn dreams into reality.

She’s the woman who has been forced, many times and in many ways, to pause and reconsider her priorities amidst chaos and sadness.

One of those forced pauses came as a result of the pandemic. Symbolically, 2020 felt like a year of “closing chapters” to “really start” sharing what Diana refers to as her “Sacred Secret” … Divine Luna Healing (a Reiki and Oracle Reading practice helping others tap into their Divine Light).

In amidst the fear and inconsistency of the world during the time, Diana found herself following The Aura House on Instagram and appreciated the realness and authenticity that its community embraced. When a post came up that the studio was hiring teachers, she felt a nudge to apply. And although there was hesitation given her experience with ‘spiritual’ communities in the past, Diana reached out to a teacher she knew she could trust who then validated her intuitive nudge. “You’ll love her (Lisa), just apply!”

Given Diana’s now role as a co-owner of the studio less than 2 years later, it’s safe to say that her intuition really wanted to be heard that day :P

From Community Meditation Instructor, to offering her “Sacred Secret” of Divine Luna Healing in our Study, facilitating Reiki Trainings, becoming an Akashic Record Reader, completing her 300-Hour Teacher Training and developing the Divine Aura Yoga School (a Registered Yoga School with the Yoga Alliance), exploring her passion for anatomy and mobility through mat and Reformer Pilates, becoming a partner in the Studio and opening the Reformer Room … all while being a full time educator … Diana is a real life Wonder Woman. And we have so much to thank for that intuitive nudge that opened her heart and brought her to our Aura community.

“Yoga in itself transformed my life ever since I started practicing in my early 20s. With the knowledge that I’ve gained, and the experiences that I’ve collected, it’s important to me to share Yoga in a way that empowers others. In my classes, if you want to be there, you have to be okay with being different. With EMBRACING different, working with it, and owning it confidently.”

The Divine Aura Yoga School is Diana’s incubator for those seeking to know their body and being through the practice of Yoga. She has created it in a way that is affordable and accessible, while also being incredibly thoughtful and comprehensive so that those who participate walk away feeling knowledgeable and empowered (both in their own practice, and if they choose to share the practice with others). It’s a school that teaches what it means to be within a Community of Care, and a way for The Aura House to continually develop its relationship with Yoga Teachers in the Brampton community, and beyond.

When asked “What do you want to build as part of your ultimate dream?” … Diana shared first that she’s learned “you don’t have to pick just one. There is no such thing as ‘one lane’ or your ‘own lane’ … you choose your destiny and what you want.” (Excuse me while we crumble to the floor in awe considering so much of life ends up being stolen from us by thinking there’s only 1 path and 1 way to live it.)

Diana is already living so many of her dreams as a Co-owner of Divine Aura (which is home to The Aura House, Divine Luna Healing, the Divine Aura Yoga School, lala wellness, ENRICH Kids, and Luna House Pilates) … and aspires to add more studio locations, a Retreat Center, and a school for children to the mix.

How incredible, right?

To tie all of that in a bow, Diana leaves you with these words of wisdom:

“If there’s something you want to do that’s going to bring you even a sliver of joy and happiness, do it.”

She can’t imagine what her life would have looked like if she had said ‘no’ and held back because of her fear.

“It doesn’t matter what other people say or what their opinions are … YOU are HERE. RIGHT NOW. LIVE YOUR LIFE.”

Diana is described by one of her students as “Church”. Her Sacred Secret is now a Shared Sanctuary by so many. Her story is the culmination of a lifetime of work, pain, loss, a decade of therapy, money and time invested in self and training, and a knowing that the learning never stops.

So … dear friend who has made it to the end of this chapter of our story … what is your dream? And who is it time to surround yourself with to bring it to life?
